July 2, 2017 @ 12:00 - 13:30

A panel of three performing poets will talk about issues including: 1980s ‘ranting poetry’; the misrepresentation of working-class poets; and rhyming solidarity from Poets on the Picket Line. There will be plenty of time for discussion, and our panellists may drop some rhymes as well.
  • Tim Wells (pictured) is made of pie and mash, reggae, lager top and Leyton Orient FC.
  • Bridget Minamore (pictured) is a poet and writer from south-east London, who mostly writes about London, pop culture, race and feminism, as well as the intersections between them.
  • Janine Booth is a Marxist motormouth and Workers’ Liberty member, who is in the second half of her poetry adventure having ranted in the 1980s and recomposed in 2014.

Venue: Birkbeck College, London.

Part of the Ideas for Freedom festival, organised by Workers’ Liberty.
