Happy Birthday Spoaken Word Lewes with Henry Normal

Henry Normal was born in Nottingham in 1956, and lives in East Sussex with his wife, the screenwriter Angela Pell, and their son, Johnny. He is a writer, poet, TV and film producer, and four of the Manchester Poetry Festival (now the Literature Festival) and co-founder of the Nottingham Poetry Festival.
In June 2017, he was honoured with a special BAFTA for service to television. He co-wrote numerous hit shows, including Mrs Merton, Paul and Pauline Calf Video Diaries, and Coogan’s Run. Henry set up Baby Cow Productions in 1999, and produced all its shows until 2016, including Gavin and Stacey, The Mighty Boosh and Alan Partridge.
Since retiring in 2016, Henry has written and perfomred seven BBC Radio 4 shows – A Normal Family, A Normal Love, A Normal Creativity, A Normal Nature, A Normal Universe ad A Normal Communications – combining comedy, poetry and stories abiout bringing up his autistic son.
Henry has returned to his first love – poetry – and performs at literature festival around the UK. He has ten poetry collections published by Flapjack Press.
