Poetry Performance for May Day

A solidarity night organised by the Worker-communist Parties of Kurdistan and Iraq and the Marxist Revival network
On Saturday 2 May socialists from a number of countries will be celebrating May Day in London. We will have a few speakers on themes including
– Nadia Mahmoud from the Worker-communist Party of Iraq on the new wave of oil workers’ struggles in Iraq.
– Jade Baker from Workers’ Liberty and the NUT on the British unions and the anti-academies struggle going on in Lewisham.
– Morad Shirin on workers’ struggles in Iran.
followed by a party. With food, drinks, Janine performing poetry, plus Kurdish music and plenty of dancing for those who fancy it. Entry will be £6 waged, £4 low-waged or unwaged. Food is free and drinks will be cheap. Any extra raised will go to support the campaign the Iraqi comrades are running for workers’ rights and a new labour law in Kurdistan.
