Reading TUC: Covid-19 and the Arts

Janine rants about Poets versus Covid and Cuts.

 

The annual ‘Heart Unions’ event this years sees a focus on the perilous state of the arts during the COVID19 pandemic.

For ‘COVID19 and the Arts’ we are joined by:

 

< Nicole Johnson (Musicians’ Union), Musician;

 

< John Oversby (UCU), Musician;

 

< Janine Booth (RMT), Radical Performance Poet;

 

< Brendan Carr (Unison), Curator at Reading Museum.

 

The variety of fields covered is sure to give us a broad understanding of the present and future challenges for our makers and custodians of culture.

 

The event is a jointly sponsored by the Reading Trades Union Council, Reading District Labour Party and Reading Socialist Club.

Presenters will speak for up to 20 minutes each before questions and discussion ensue.
