DESCRIPTION:Janine will perform three ten-minute poetry sets on each day of Leicester’s Riverside Festival. \nThe annual Riverside Festival is Leicester’s largest free arts event\, featuring music\, food and stalls. It takes place in the centre of Leicester.  Venue and accessibility information is available here. \nPoetry at Leicester’s Riverside Festival\nPoetry at the Riverside Festival is being curated by Literati\, anot-for-profit organisation based in Leicester that promotes the role of performance poetry and storytelling in community connection and healing\, which works predominantly with Care Experienced people and the Black community.  \nThis is just one of a flurry of poetry performances by Janine in Leicester this spring and summer\, including a jaunt with Kev Mud. \n  \n

SUMMARY:Class Lines and Red Rhymes in Leicester with Henry Normal
DESCRIPTION:Some-Antics presents an afternoon of poetry from contributors to the new Left Cultures poetry anthology\, Class Lines and Red Rhymes at the Phoenix in Leicester. \nThe new poetry anthology Class Lines and Red Rhymes features 25+ left-wing poems from old names and new\, with striking illustrations throughout. \nContributors Janine Booth (who also edited the book)\, Chris Williams and Henry Normal will read/perform their poems\, plus others from the anthology. There will also be an open mic section. \nAnd you can buy Class Lines and Red Rhymes! \nProceeds (after expenses) will be donated to a local working-class cause. \nClass Lines and Red Rhymes in Leicester\nTickets are £8 and £4 concessions\, now available from the Phoenix website. \nPlease note this is an additional show to the regular Some-Antics date\, which will take place on Friday 19 June.
